Hatch Outdoors Premium PE Backing

This is pricey backing for most applications. I did put it on a few of my salt reels and works like any other backing, just stronger and smaller diameter. The price is killer though, so choose what you really need premium backing for. I don't use it on any of my trout setups, dacron works just fine, I dont remember going to my backing when I had a trout on. The price gave it 4 stars, otherwise would be a solid 5.

Yes this is pricey for something you might rarely get into, but you don't want to worry about your backing when you have that monster on the line. Due to it's thinner diameter, you will be able to get more backing on you reel. And it's rated to 68#s, so you never have to worry about it. Yes it's a little more, but you get what you pay for. This will always be the first thing I put on my reels.
