The reaction around the fly fishing world toward the new Scott Radian Series Fly Rod has been nothing short of frenzied. Lucky for Scott, and for you, this fly rod lives up to the hype. Thanks to Scott's ReAct technology, the Radian delivers short-range casts without breaking a tippet or falling apart at the end of a long-distance cast. This is due, in part, to a durable X-Core blank design and a re-engineered taper profile. FiberFuse resin enhances the strength of the blank by impregnating each strand of carbon on a molecular level, and further increases accuracy by providing a damping effect to rod oscillations. All of this technology would be enough to elevate the Radian Series above the rest, but when you add Scott's attention to detail and the finest materials and hardware, they really become something special. High grade Portuguese cork delivers exceptional comfort in the grip. Custom burled box elder spacers, sunset wrap accents, and black anodized reel seats set the Radian Series apart from its brethren in the Scott family, and give these fly rods subtle, sophisticated beauty to match their groundbreaking performance. X-Core Design - Fast-taper, hollow-core blank design for the ultimate in stiffness and control Multi-modulus graphite blanks for the ideal balance of light weight and smooth action Titanium SiC stripping guides Snake Brand self-lubricating Universal coils Hard-anodized reel seat and collars Natural carbon finishRead our full review of the Best New Fly Rods of 2014.

The best of all worlds!!!

by

I can't believe how much I love fishing this new rod from Scott. I had the privilege of casting this rod at the IFTD show in Vegas where it won all of the awards that you're heard about. There, I found that Scott has taken an artistic and innovative approach to popular fast action rod market. The Radian really does an amazing job of being very fast, versatile, and sensitive...all at the same time. With being said,I have many Sage rods that I love, the ONE included however I found myself still needing to own this rod. Simply put, it is the my favorite and most used rod on a daily basis in my quiver. I cannot recommend the versatility, speed, and sensitivity of this fishing tool enough.

My all arounder

I have this in a 5 wt. and really like it for anything from dries to nymphs to smaller streamers. Smooth casting and has the power to get those further casts out there. Looks great and am contemplating the 6 or 7 wt. Another outstanding rod from Scott!

My wife treated me to a new 10' 7wt Scott Radian last year. This is my second Radian rod and I can't rave about them enough. The Radian 7wt is perfect for casting large trout and medium pike flies. I still prefer a 9wt or bigger for flies better resembling road kill. My Radian 7wt should be a blast on the beaches of Mexico!

Money well spent

I have been fishing the 9 ft 6wt for about 4 months now. I test-cast a Winston B3X and Sage One side by side with the Radian twice for a pretty good amount of time. Grateful for the patience of the fly shop rep. The Radian was the perfect balance of all the things I liked in the Winston and Sage. Great at casting line at a distance but easy to dial in at short shots as well. Sensitive with backbone. I fish primarily tailwaters in the Southeast casting dries, dry droppers, nymph rigs and streamers. I have enjoyed fishing the Radian in all circumstances without finding fault yet. The service, when purchasing from Vail Valley was excellent, efficient, and delivery was prompt.
