3/4-Day Private Water Wade Trip

We are not currently booking private water trips. Please call the shop for more info: (970) 926-0900

On our private waters, you have access to secluded, trout-filled streams and creeks that remain unfished by other anglers. During your guided fly fishing trip, you will have the water all to yourself. With flexible start times, anglers can choose the best time of the day to fish depending on the season. A 3/4-day wade trip with private access is ideal for vacationers with a full schedule and experienced fly fishermen looking to focus on landing a trophy trout. 3/4-day wade trips last up to six hours. To fish our private water there is an additional "rod fee" of $100 per angler for a 3/4-day. This fee is reflected in the pricing that is displayed on this page.

Please note, the Private Waters 3/4-Day Wade Trip has a 2-to-1 client-to-guide ratio. We do not offer this trip with a 3-to-1 client-to-guide ratio. For more information, please contact us directly at 970-926-0900 or guidedesk@vailvalleyanglers.com.

What to Wear

The weather in the Colorado Rockies is unpredictable and always changing. It is important to head out on the water prepared for the full range of conditions. Also, please keep in mind that you'll be fishing at high altitude – hydration and sun protection are key. Here is how we recommend dressing for a 3/4-Day Wade Trip:

    Breathable shirt or sun hoody.
Light fleece layer for cold, early mornings.
    Light, packable rain jacket.
  • Bottom
    Breathable pants or shorts.
  • Footwear
Wool or synthetic socks to wear with boots and waders.
  • Accessories
    Sun hat and polarized sunglasses.

Spring and Fall:

  • Top
Baselayer or long underwear that wicks moisture and dries quickly.
Insulating midlayer (fleece, down, or synthetic).
    Waterproof/breathable shell.
  • Bottom
Baselayer or long underwear that wicks moisture and dries quickly.
Breathable pant or sweatpant (to wear under waders).
